How do I care for my HATHAWAY Scarf?

We recommend dry clean only, when doing so please check your dry cleaner is aware of dry cleaning silk and silk wools. Alternatively, you can hand wash in tepid water with a specialist silk-friendly detergent, rinsing in cold water. Iron on a low heat - Never machine wash or tumble dry.

What fabrics do you use?

All our fabrics are 100% natural and carefully sourced to meet HATHAWAY’s ethical and sustainability standards. This includes silk, wool, and special wool-silk blends. Select designs feature GOTS-certified organic silk twill. We are also introducing innovative eco-conscious materials such as peace silk, SeaCell, and vegan Modal.

Where is your fabric printed?

All our fabrics are printed using Azo-free, eco-friendly dyes in collaboration with a family-run, environmentally conscious digital fabric-printing company. Their state-of-the-art printing facility allows us to ensure the highest quality while maintaining our commitment to sustainability.

Where are HATHAWAY Scarves made?

Every scarf is crafted with care by skilled artisans in Como. Italy. HATHAWAY scarves are hand-finished with pin-hem or hand-rolled edges, reflecting meticulous craftsmanship. We work with certified suppliers and local collaborators who follow strict ethical, fair wage, and sustainable production standards.

Where is HATHAWAY based?

Our main design studio is based in London with Sera Hathaway. All items are shipped by Sera from her small studio in London. Artist Lyn Hathaway is based in New Zealand - Although on different sides of the World, the HATHAWAY ladies make quite the team, which is what makes the collaboration of all their talents and skills a special and unique part of the creation of HATHAWAY

Can I track my order?

Yes, once we dispatch your order you will receive a tracking email and can follow the progress of your order online.

How do I return an item?

How do I return or exchange my item?

We accept returns and exchange requests made within 14 days ( 30 days over Christmas Period ) from when the order has been received by you.

Returning an item for a refund or exchange is simple:

1. Get in touch with us via our contact page contact page or email sera@hathawayproject.com within 48 hours of receiving your order.

2. Please place your name, email and order number:
        - On the outside of your return parcel.
        - Or place a note inside your return parcel.

3. We advise you send returned items by registered post to keep your proof of postage as we cannot be responsible for goods lost or damaged in transit.

4. Once you contact us regarding the return request we will confirm our return address.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused, and in the same condition that you received it. Swing tag must still be attached. If an Item has any indication that it has been used will be returned to you.

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. In some cases if you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.

When will I receive my refund?

Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment. Please be aware it can take up to 10 working days for funds to clear with your bank

Exchanges

If you would like to exchange an item please send us an email at sera@hathawayproject.com. You will need to return the original item in a condition eligible for returns as stated above, and then you can place a new order.

Late or missing refunds

If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again.

Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.

Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.

Sale items

Only regular priced items may be refunded, unfortunately unless confirmed prior to purchase sale items cannot be refunded. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions you may have.

Gift Exchanges

If the item was marked or noted as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, once the returned item is received you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return.

If the item wasn’t marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves and gifted to you, a refund will be provided to the gift giver. Please note that this will result in the gift giver finding out about your return.

Can you gift wrap my order?

We are always happy to assist with any request you may have, including personalised gift wrapping. Please contact us with any special request you may have.

I have not received confirmation of my order?

You should receive an order confirmation with 30 minutes of placing your order. Just to be safe, please check your spam or junk folder. If you do not receive it please contact us and we will look into it right away.

Can I cancel or amend my order?

Once you have placed an order online, you can’t amend it yourself. Please contact us, and if your item has not yet been dispatched we will cancel any unwanted items or place a new order. If you have received a confirmation email with tracking number it means your order has already been dispatched and we are unable to cancel items after being sent. Please see our returns section for information on how to return or exchange or refund if applicable.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit and debit cards and Apple Pay

When will my credit card be charged?

Payment is charged at the time your order is placed, after security checks from your bank issuer and HATHAWAY have been completed.

Is it safe to use my credit card online with HATHAWAY?

HATHAWAY uses Shopify's payment system. Shopify is certified Level 1 PCI DSS compliant. For more information, see their PCI page.

Can I choose which currency to pay in?

Yes you can. Prices will be shown in the currency of the country you are currently located in, but you can change your country/region using the dropdown at either the top or bottom of the page.

Are duties paid beforehand?

Currently, we offer shipping on a Delivery Duties Paid basis for the following countries and regions: UK, EU, UAE, USA, India, China.

If country is not listed above, the price shown to you at checkout will be exclusive of any import duties or local taxes.

We cannot take responsibility for any additional charges that may be levied by the country you are located in.
